Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, is offering a great value family promotion for travel during Ramadan whereby kids can fly with the World’s Leading Airline, stay in luxurious hotels and enjoy Abu Dhabi’s exciting attractions for as little as USD $1*, plus government taxes. The special promotional sale is available when travelling to Abu Dhabi in Etihad’s Coral Economy Class from any of the 65 global destinations currently served by the airline.
Available for sale now through July 31, 2011, the fares are applicable on travel to Abu Dhabi between August 1 and August 25, 2011. For every two paying adults, two children up to 12 years will get the following benefits:
• Coral Economy Class tickets on Etihad Airways for $1, plus applicable government taxes. Fuel surcharge will also not be applied on child/infant tickets.

• Free meals at residing hotels
• Free access to a selection of tourist attractions
Hotel accommodation is available at the Yas Hotel, Shangri-La, Radisson Blu Yas Island, Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan, Park Rotana, Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, Beach Rotana and Yas Island Rotana. Families with two children will receive a second room and families with one child will receive an extra bed in the same room.
Families can choose from activities and tours including Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Desert Safari, the Falcon Experience, Golf Yas Links, City Tour and Big Bus Abu Dhabi.
Peter Baumgartner, Etihad’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “Our home city of Abu Dhabi – and the whole of the UAE – is a world-class destination particularly suited to families and children. Etihad aims to offer great value for travelling families, especially during the popular summer travel season, making the wonders of Abu Dhabi both affordable and easy to access.”
The applicable travel period falls during Ramadan, which occurs this year between August 1 and August 30. Ramadan is the ninth month on the Islamic calendar, a time of fasting and self-discipline for Muslims who refrain from eating and drinking during daylight hours. After sunset, Abu Dhabi comes alive with music and excitement. Family and friends gather for a fast-breaking meal known as Iftar, with special culinary delights for the occasion, and many restaurants and local establishments will extend their evening hours to accommodate the after-dark activity.
