The ninth session of the International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX- Abu Dhabi 2011), will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, between 14th -17th of September, 2011, under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in Al Gharbia (the Western Region) in Abu Dhabi, President of the Emirates Falconers Club. ADIHEX is held with the support of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH).
Last year’ convention was held at a 29,000 sq. meter venue and was home to 589 exhibitors, from thirty-nine countries. The Exhibition attracted more than 100,000 visitors.
Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Director of ADIHEX and Director of the Communication Department at ADACH, said that this year’s Exhibition "will be held in a larger space (an estimated 31,000 sq. meters), where the latest and best products relating to falconry, equestrian pursuits, safaris, outdoor sports, hunting weapons, components and ammunition and fishing equipment will be on show. There will also be displays of antiques and traditional arts." "The gallery exhibits are not limited to hunting and equestrian equipment only, but will also include a section on fishing and marine activities. This area has retained the interest of both amateurs and established experts of fishing, scuba diving and marine activities," Qubaisi said.
This year, ADIHEX is witnessing the participation of many well-known names in this industry, such as Al Shaali Marine, EZ Trailer, and Gulf Marine Sports. These participants will be demonstrating the range of equipment available in the area of marine activities. Though these companies are specialised in this area, the attendance of amateurs is encouraged. It is hoped that this inclusion will result in improved understanding, in all persons, of the types of apparatus available in this area.
"There are multiple reasons why people from the fishing and marine sector would be interested in joining ADIHEX," said Qubaisi. He further stressed that "VIPs are placing a strong emphasis on this sector and are actively encouraging its expansion; ADIHEX is considered to be the only convention that tackles fishing and marine in Abu Dhabi. The biggest companies in the industry: Al Shaali Marine’ EZ trailer; Gulf Marine Sports, have already indicated their participation and support"..
An overview of the convention highlights how the space has been delegated. 65% of the total area of the Exhibition has been reserved by more than 340 exhibitors, and the space allocated to falconry, cultural and heritage activities and events has been fully booked. The fishing sector has also attracted a significant demand from local companies.
The area allocated to guns and hunting weapons is 80% booked by renowned exhibitors such as IGG, MP3 and Fausti. Companies, including GHI, Black Horse and Al Khail, have reserved 60% of the equestrian area, while 40% of the outdoor sports and safari sector has been retained by exhibitors such as Fano, Polaris, and Tamreen.
