The hawksbill restaurant at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club has launched a new menu to revitalize customers’ taste buds. Managed by Troon Golf, Saadiyat Beach Golf Club is the flagship sports facility on Saadiyat Beach and home to the hawksbill restaurant, named after the protected turtle species that use Saadiyat Island as a hatching spot.
Hawksbill offers epicurean dishes in an intimate, enticing atmosphere, can seat up to 140 guests in its comfortable leather chairs, and offers an outdoor terrace for scenic views of the course. The menu has been revamped to include a variety of international dishes with an emphasis on new ingredients such as truffle oil, gruyere cheese and lobster to name a few, and has kept timeless classics on the menu including the tender 8oz Burger, flavourful Lamb Biryani and exquisite Pan-seared Sea Bass.
Already well established with a loyal customer base, the aim is to offer customers a new array of delicious choices. Chef Noor Raskan says, “It’s always good to spice things up and we recognize the importance of a diverse offering - changing the menu is a forward step and the perfect medium to show that we continue to offer the best. We try to use fresh, local ingredients as much as possible and work closely with WWF to support sustainable fishing by using non-endangered fish in our dishes, such as Nile Perch for Fish and Chips.”
To provide a taste experience like no other, new flavour combinations have been introduced to the menu combining ingredients that work together perfectly such as the Cuttlefish ink Tagliolini infused with cuttlefish ink, tossed with lobster, tomato and cream finished with fresh basil pesto and the hard-to-resist Mee goreng with Thai style prawns in sambal sauce. Also catering to the vegetarian palate, dishes that stand out on the menu comprise a rich, creamy Potato gnocchi served with truffle parmesan fondue and the sizzling Quesadillas served with cheese, fresh guacamole, salsa and sour cream. Not to be overlooked is the elegant Trio of Crème Brulée including coffee, vanilla and toffee flavours topped with caramelized sugar or the exquisite decadent Chocolate Dome, a milk chocolate mousse with caramelized sugar, banana and warm toffee sauce. For those seeking a blend of textures, the Chocolate fondant served warm with vanilla sabayon and pineapple sorbet is just the thing – a hot and cold sumptuous sensation!
A treat for gastronomes out there, the hawksbill provides picturesque views of the golf course, showcases the brilliant blues of the ocean and much like a big hug, the dishes make you feel great!
