Under the patronage of H.E. Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, the Minister of Foreign Trade, Abu Dhabi will play host to the Stevie Award’s “8th Annual International Business Awards” (IBA’s) in October. H.E.’s auspices of these awards is part of the Ministry’s efforts to commercially promote UAE companies and economic establishments and highlight their achievements, production and export abilities, and improve their outreach in various global markets. The IBA’s were created to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and business people in all fields, and from all over the world.

Michael Gallagher, the President of the Stevie International Business Awards, commented on this year’s Awards saying that “we are honored to be invited to host the event in Abu Dhabi, making it the first time for the event to be hosted in the Middle East”. Gallagher added that the IBA’s are the “preeminent indicator of achievement in the global business community” and that each year, they celebrate “the achievements of individuals and organizations that are making a positive difference for their customers, their shareholders, their employers, and their communities”.

The IBA’s recognize achievement in every facet of the workplace. Its categories include: Management Awards, Company of the Year Awards, Customer Service Awards, Human Resources Awards, Information Technology Awards, Marketing Awards, New Products Awards, Public Relations Awards, Businesswomen Awards, Website Awards, as well as other media awards.

The Awards are expected to attract the participation of over 40 countries this year, and are open to all individuals, organizations, for profit and not-for-profit public and private institutions, as well as large corporations and small companies.

The winners of the International Business Awards will be chosen by a panel comprised of distinguished judges and advisors that features prominent and accomplished professionals from many different countries. Individuals and groups have until the 8th of June, 2011 to present their nominations through the awards’ website or through the mail.
