The Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, in association with the University of Chicago Business Alumni Club, has launched the "Qudwa" program, an initiative to provide one year of advanced counseling system for entrepreneurship leaders who benefit from the Funds services.
The program which is the first of its kind in the Middle East connects the Fund’s entrepreneur leadership with highly qualified and capable businessmen and executives, who provide guidance and advice for a full year to advance their experience, improve their administrative skills and technical skills and at the same time minimize the risks of failing enterprises.
In his opening speech at the launch ceremony, Abdulla Al-Darmaki, Deputy Chief Executive officer of the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development said the Fund’s new initiative "Qudwa" is aimed at providing a suitable environment for entrepreneurship leaders and enabling them to acquire the experience and knowledge necessary for their development and future excellence.
Al-Darmaki added: "The programme which benefits eleven national owners of projects financed by the Khalifa Fund represents a practical framework to make the relevant expertise and successful experiences in different areas available to them." He expected that between 12 and 20 entrepreneurship leaders will be eligible for receiving benefits from the programme. He also stressed that the Fund will promote its partnership with prestigious and internationally recognized academic institutes and elite business leaders who will offer guidance for entrepreneurship leaders.
Al-Darmaki noted that the Fund launched several initiatives over the past four years to further improve the environment for entrepreneurship and empower funded projects to achieve growth and to increase competitiveness. These include the Fund’s e-portal which provided electronic interconnection among members and enabled the creation of integral relations that boost prospects as well as provide a platform for them to market their products and tap trade opportunities.
He stated that, alongside providing finance, the Khalifa Fund provides counseling, development of ideas for projects, training, development as well as market research.
Other speakers at the ceremony include Mohammed Abdul Jalil Al-Fahim, Honorary Chairman of the Al-Fahim Group, Najla Al-Midfa, Manager of the Entrepreneurship Development Department at the Khalifa Fund, Amna Al-Hashli of the Fund’s Department of Enterprise Development ’&’ Support, Faisal Fakhruddin, Associate President of the University of Chicago Business Alumni Club in UAE and others.
