Abu Dhabi is hosting the ninth meeting of the UAE-Algerian Joint Committee on May 24th.
The Committee will be chaired by Sultan Saeed Al-Mansouri, UAE Minister of Economy and Karim Djoudi, Algeria’s Minister of Finance.
The 2-day meeting will discuss the outcome of the previous meeting which sought to promote trade exchange between the two countries and establishing a permanent trade centre in the UAE.
Also on the agenda of the forthcoming meeting are potential ways to advance cooperation and relations in sectors such as telecom, ports, transport, infrastructure, energy, finance, education, civil aviation as well as joint projects in banking and industries. The meeting will also consider new sectors as venues for joint projects to make advantage of potentials and resources.
Al-Mansouri also said the Committee will provide local and federal departments and private businesses with a platform to boost cooperation with Algeria’s economy.
He stressed on the UAE’s interest in furthering relations with Algeria as per directives by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Launched in 1984, the Committee stands out as a reflection of the keen interest of both countries to promote their relations, he noted adding that the UAE and Algeria have concluded 20 agreements so far.
