Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) has demonstrated its support for football from the grassroots level, with the Majid junior football tournament, up to the professional game through their partnership with the UFL.
ADIB sponsored the inaugural Majid Junior Football Tournament that drew 30 schools from across the UAE to play for the under 12 and under 10 age group titles. The tournament, organized by ‘Majid’ magazine, was played at the Zayed Sports City on 6th and 7th May 2011. At the tournament, ADIB provided entertainment through ball jugglers and face painters as well gifts for participants. The mascot, Majid, proved to be a popular attraction at the tournament and during his visit to the ADIB branch in Marina Mall where over 200 children met and had their photograph taken with him.
This activity further built on ADIB’s own grassroots programme, the ADIB Future Champions League, which was launched earlier in the season at Al Wahda football club.
As Official Partner to the UFL, ADIB carried out its final football activity of the season at the Etisalat Pro-League fixture between Al Wasl and Al Jazira at the Zabeel Stadium in Dubai on 16th May, 2011. ADIB entertained fans visiting the stadium with their promotional kiosk and football skills stands. The bank offered also awarded one lucky winner of ADIB’s Visa Football Card prize draw, an Al Wasl fan, with the AED 10,000 prize.
ADIB was satisfied with its successful football season with the UFL and is excited about its involvement next season when it will continue as the Official Banking Partner of the UFL and to entertain football fans.
