Zakat Fund has opened its first ATM machine in Al Ain at Bawadi Mall, as part of its strategy to enhance Zakat through innovative methods.
HE Abdullah bin Oqeidah Al-Muheiry, Secretary-General of the Zakat Fund, said the move is designed to reach maximum number of people. He added that there are 11 Zakat Fund ATM machines distributed all over Abu Dhabi, in locations like Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi Cooperative Association, Al Khalidieh Centre, Al Wahda, Abu Dhabi Exchange Market, Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Tamm Centre in Western Region.
Khalid Shraim, Marketing Manager, Bawadi Mall added: “We are delighted that Bawadi Mall was chosen by Zakat Fund to open their first ATM machine in Al Ain. This goes well with our mission of putting community service as our top priority. We feel it is our duty to enhance awareness of Zakat and provide best methods to enhance the fulfillment of this duty.”
Al-Muheiry added: “This service demonstrates the drive of the Zakat Fund to be a leading organization in the UAE by offering services and solutions that are innovative in nature and that cater to the needs of the society.”
The new service of ATM machine is a distinguished addition to the suite of services offered by Zakat Fund.
Al-Muheiry added: “This new service will serve people for not only paying their zakat but also for calculating it. Zakat can be paid cash or through cheques or credit card. Machines are programmed to receive all currencies.”
He added that zakat beneficiaries can avail of the service by using a magnetic card. All operations of debit and credit from the machine are linked to the central account of Zakat Fund and every person fulfilling zakat will receive a receipt for his payment.
Al-Muheiry added that more machines will be installed in all emirates of the UAE to achieve the goals of the Zakat Fund in enhancing awareness about Zakat and increasing the resources of the fund.
The service of the ATM machine comes as a new service offered by Zakat Fund under its slogan “Modernised vision for Sharia Duty” which started by payment of zakat through the website of the Zakat Fund as well as via mobile phones and other similar services.
