The ICTRF event, which was held for the first time by Khalifa University in 2006, focuses on advances in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), including research and educational networks, funding opportunities and mechanisms, as well as emerging research areas in the sector. The one day event included sessions on: initiating research and innovation through network enabled applications, achieving and measuring impact through research funding, and emerging research areas in ICT.
He added; “this forum represents a unique opportunity for both Khalifa University and ICT professionals across the country and indeed internationally to discuss the current status of the UAE’s research and education network capabilities. It is truly encouraging to see both public and private entities come together to discuss future collaboration projects. We have already witnessed advancement in such public and private collaborative ventures in the Advanced Network for Research and Education (ANKABUT) and the ETISALAT-BT Innovation Centre (EBTIC) which are both operated and hosted by Khalifa University. We certainly anticipate great things to come out of this year’s forum.”
