The Abu Dhabi Film Commission (ADFC) today announced that it is to integrate into the Media Zone Authority – Abu Dhabi. The Commission will continue to promote Abu Dhabi as a production and filming location.
Launched in 2009 by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture & Heritage (ADACH), ADFC has a mandate to support the development of Abu Dhabi’s film industry. The integration with the Media Zone Authority is seen a natural and positive development for both organisations as they work to support the development of Arabic media and entertainment content and establish Abu Dhabi as a regional centre of excellence.
Wayne Borg, Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer at twofour54 said: “ADFC is already based at our Khalifia Park campus and we have established an extremely close working relationship over the last couple of years. We have worked on a number of successful projects and this alignment will further support the development of Abu Dhabi and the UAE as a leading film and television location and production centre in the region.
David Shepheard, Director of Abu Dhabi Film Commission said: “The Film Commission’s move to the Media Zone Authority is a natural progression in our continuing development to assist film making activities in the Emirate and to promote Abu Dhabi to the international film and TV community”
