Gulf Precast Rises to the Challenge of 5 Villas Per Day
(8 May 2011)

ABU DHABI, UAE, May 8, 2011/PRNewswire/ -- Large villa construction projects, catering for UAE Nationals housing requirements, are high on the present agenda of the UAE planning authorities, as confirmed by the recent announcement by the Urban Planning Council that 13,000 new villas for Emirati families will be constructed over the next few years. Gulf Precast Concrete Company, a UAE Leader in Precast manufacturing and construction, possesses a long track record of building large housing developments in the UAE and has been recently selected by major developers to handle the Precast construction of more than 2,000 villas in the Al Falah area, Abu Dhabi Emirate.

The scope of Gulf Precast in the Al Falah villa Project covers the full superstructure, comprising external and internal wall panels, flooring and roof, facade light-weight decorative elements, more than 220 kilometers of surrounding boundary walls as well as the substructure and superstructure works for numerous electrical substations of the villa development. The critical challenge was to consistently produce and build five villas per day. As a leader in the UAE Precast industry, Gulf Precast could mobilise seven of its plants to achieve this requirement, amongst which a mobile production facility that was directly installed and commissioned on site. More than 1,100 villas have already been manufactured, 850 installed on site, in addition to 20 kilometers of boundary wall.

Commenting on the rationale for selecting Precast for major villa development projects, Elias Seraphim, Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Precast said; "The decision takes into consideration multiple aspects, such as time, quality, safety, sustainability and cost. Precast is ideal for large villa projects, at it fosters substantial cost savings through economy of scale and allows to significantly reduce the construction time. As Precast elements are produced in a factory environment before being assembled on site, all components are controlled and inspected before being transported, which allows for better quality and sustainability. Fast assembly limits considerably the risk exposure entailed by working at height, rendering Precast projects much safer than traditional ones."

In order to cater for its ambitious construction developments, the United Arab Emirates construction industry is increasingly depending on the presence of long established Precast manufacturers such as Gulf Precast, with a substantial production capacity and state-of-the-art equipment and machinery, who can ensure completion on time and fulfill stringent quality and sustainability standards, while keeping costs to a minimum.
