An Etihad Airways Airbus A320 dwarfs a Formula Yas 3000 racing car as it lifts off at 256 km/h at Abu Dhabi international airport to mark the take-off of ticket sales for the 2011 Formula 1TM Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Forty per cent of grandstand tickets for the event had been purchased by the end of the first week of global sales.
Tickets went on sale last Thursday (28 April) and initial demand was strongest from the UAE and Europe. The race will take place at Yas Marina Circuit on 11-13 November.
“We’re very pleased with the high level of demand for tickets,” said Richard Cregan, Chief Executive Officer of Yas Marina Circuit. “The Grand Prix has become an important part of the sporting and social calendar in the UAE.
Ticket prices have been held at the same level as last year and we are very encouraged by the initial response.”
The 2011 Formula 1TM Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix offers three ticket categories:
Grandstand tickets: These tickets are priced at AED 1,800 for two days and AED 2,000 for three days, with the same pricing for all seats. The circuit is offering a 20% discount for a limited period, with tickets selling at AED 1,440 and AED 1,600 respectively until 31 May.
Premium “Category 1” tickets: Available at AED 4,250, these three-day tickets offer the chance to enjoy balcony seating, air-conditioned lounges with food and beverage service, and complimentary parking.
Paddock Club tickets: Starting from AED 16,900, these prestigious two- or three-day tickets enable race-goers to enjoy a full VIP experience.
