Last night bore witness an enthralling evening of football at the Dome @ Rawdhat which saw Abu Dhabi Media Company (ADMC) move within one point of the RIML Championship and set up a potential title decider with Esnaad on the final day of the season.
ADMC kicked off against a resilient Abu Dhabi Terminals (ADT) side who gained an early advantage through Sibawaihi Ibrahim. This spurred ADMC in to life with Abdel Azim and RIML top goal scorer Ghanem Al Mazroui then giving the media company the lead. The impressive Salem Mansour who made several incisive runs from midfield then scored 2 goals to add some gloss to the score line (4-1).
ADMC were also in action against Tamouh in an entertaining 4-2 encounter. Having taken a 2-0 lead and seemingly cruising to victory, Tamouh drew level with only 5 minutes remaining to damage ADMC’s title ambitions. However, the media company were not to be denied and ran out eventual winners. Ghanem Al Mazroui again underpinned his importance by chipping in with 3 goals to take his tally to 26 goals so far this season.
In the final game, ADT were denied 3rd place by a spirited Tamouh side who won 2-1. Goals from Ayman Rageh and Mohamed Shareef gave the financial service company a 2 nil lead with Mohamed Hajji netting ADT’s solitary reply.
ADMC’s Captain Nasser Al Zaabi commented: “The RIML has produced some of the most exciting football in Abu Dhabi. As last night’s results proved there are no easy games and we are delighted to be in with a chance to become the league’s first winners. We look forward to the final games on Sunday 8th May, 2011 and the opportunity to be crowned Champions”.
Each RIML team will now enjoy a professional coaching session from decorated player Khalid Hamdaoui who will prepare the teams for their last games on Sunday 8th May. The final games promises to be a highly exciting occasion with an end of season party following the matches; prizes will be given to the teams that finish in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
