The fourth and final round of Yas Marina Circuit’s Pro Drag Racing Series will finish with a fury of racing at the Yas Drag Racing Centre this weekend (28 and 29 April). Fifty-five professional drivers and riders will race head-to-head for their chance to win a share of the AED 1.4 million series prize pool.
The Pro Drag Racing Series features seven classes of professional racing, covering Pro Mod, Outlaw 10.5, 4.80 Index, Probike, Superstreet Bike, Pro 6 and Superstreet 8. For leading drivers across the GCC, these final races of the season will be the ultimate test of speed.
In the Pro Mod class Ali Al Kaabi continues to lead the pack, as he has done throughout the season, and looks set to take the Pro Mod season title and prize money. Leading the Super Street 8 class is Adel Al Hosani with 90 points, followed by Fadi Tammour with 80 points.
Helping to celebrate the final round, footballers from Al Jazira and Al Wahda will be taking their traditional on-field competition on to the strip as they strap into Chevrolet Camaro SS to settle friendly rivalries.
Spectators will have the opportunity to experience the drag racing sensation first-hand, with rides in the world’s only three-seat Super Comp Dragster driven by Yas Top Fuel ace and Chief Drag Racing Instructor Hot Rod Fuller. Fuller will be catapulting willing participants down the Yas drag strip with 1,050bhp, reaching 100km/hr in 1.5 seconds.
