Abu Dhabi University has recently graduated its 5th cohort of students and is now on its 7th year. ADU continues to be successful in helping graduates throughout their academic and professional careers.
The ADU graduate employment rate has grown to 96% this year for students who graduated in the fall of 2009-2010. The Spring 2010 graduate employment rate has climbed to 87% and the employment rate for graduates from Summer 2010 has already reached 80%.
Employment sectors that have seen an increase in ADU graduate recruitment include IT and commercial fields including banking, finance, sales and marketing, with placings also in the field of translation. Some graduates secured employment between 4 to 6 months after graduation. In fact, records indicate that at least 90 % of ADU graduates are employed within 6 months after completion of studies.
ADU and SUMMIT, ADU’s career management affiliate, provide ADU students with the core skills and competencies required by employers. Success in employment placing is attributed largely to the enhanced career services, which equip students to be more competitive in the current job market.
Recruitment services will diversify and target new fields in the upcoming semesters, such as Civil Engineering, Interior Design, and Environmental Science. Among the services offered to ADU students are: 1-to-1 Career Guidance Interviews, Career Management Workshops, Aptitude and Personality Assessment, Recruitment Services, Internships, and Employer Panel Discussions.
An annual Careers Fair is being held at the Abu Dhabi campus to provide students with a unique opportunity to meet and greet hiring managers from a broad spectrum of organizations, to learn about potential career and internship opportunities, and to widen the students’ networks of contacts, ensuring promising futures for all students. The careers team also invites companies on a regular basis to speak to students through a series of Employer Discussion Panels.
The ADU Career Development Department is committed to ensuring that all graduates leave the University with the skills and experience necessary to achieve a successful career.
