Her songs shimmer with soul, anchored by the hugely colourful stamp of her idiosyncratic persona; drawing on diverse influences from music, literature, art and cinema, Paloma Faith will be joining the crowds at the Corniche this year.
Joining Paloma Faith at the Corniche will be the celebrated Senegalese master-musician Baaba Maal and the visual extraordinaire The Manganiyar Seduction by Roysten Abel from India.
At Al Jahili Fort in Al Ain, the self taught quick fingered Malian kora player Toumani Diabaté and home grown Tarab Al Emarat from UAE will be completing an already fantastic line up.
Other artists confirmed at The Corniche are: Khaira Alby (Mali), LA-33 (Colombia), Orchestre National de Barbes (France). With workshops from Baaba Maal (Senegal) and LA-33 (Colombia) and Khyam Allami & Andrea Piccioni (Iraq/UK/Italy) will be brewing up a storm at Taste The World.
Other artists confirmed at Al Jahili Fort in Al Ain are: Hindi Zahra (France/Morocco), El Tanbura (Egypt), Muntu Valdo (Cameroon) and Aurelio & The Garifuna Soul Band (Honduras) with a workshop session from Ripton Lindsay (Jamaica).
Prepare to be amazed, delighted, excited by the sights, smells and sounds at WOMAD Abu Dhabi 2011.
