Sparkling Voice Of Macadi Nahhas Thrilled The Abu Dhabi Festival Audience In Intimate Zaha Hadid Pavilion

Inspirational Jordanian vocalist Macadi Nahhas performed last night in the Zaha Hadid Pavilion on the lawn of the Emirates Palace as part of Abu Dhabi Festival 2011.

Renowned for her exceptional style in reviving traditional folk songs from Middle Eastern Heritage, Macadi performed songs of Fayrouz and of the Levant. The latter is part of her pioneering long term research project into the folkloric music of Bilad Al Sham.

This unique space has hosted some of the Arab world’s most exciting performers and artists. Still to come is Jean-Guihen Queyras the virtuoso cellist on March 27th, Lebanese chanteuse Soumaya Baalbaki on March 28th and composer and member of the Lebanese musical Rahbani dynasty Oussama Rahbani on March 29th. The programme is a celebration of the spirit of ‘Harmony for Humanity’, the theme of the Abu Dhabi Festival in 2011.

Events at Zaha Hadid Pavilion the lawns of Emirates Palace run until 30th March. Tickets are priced at AED 100 and are available through www.timeouttickets.com.
