Al Hilal Bank, a progressive Islamic bank in the UAE, drew a huge throng of media representatives, car enthusiasts, families and curious visitors to its 3rd annual ‘Al Hilal Auto Festival’ which opened today (Thursday, March 24, 2011) and runs until March 27, 2011 at Abu Dhabi’s Corniche Road next to the beach parking area.

The inaugural day included an exhibition of Harley Davidson motorcycles, a display of over 300 cars from more than 30 world-class brands, and activities at a specially-designated children’s area which added excitement and fun to the family-friendly event. Visitors were impressed by the design of the special stage constructed in the open-space venue as well as the start-of-the-art equipment used to draw attention to the festivities.

More people are expected to flock to the festival to watch the Police Car Show tomorrow, the Classical Cars Show on the 26th, and the Custom-Made Cars and Police Musical Shows on the last day.

“The Al Hilal Auto Festival has become an iconic activity for the city of Abu Dhabi, offering a one-of-a-kind venue where people can have fun while viewing and even buying their dream car. We intend to launch more events that reflect the vibrancy of Abu Dhabi and cater to the interests and needs of the citizens. Visiting customers can own a new car within the day provided they bring all the necessary documents such as bank statements, passport and valid ID. Vehicles will be offered at highly competitive rates starting at 2.49 per cent. Al Hilal Bank’s insurance subsidiary, Al Hilal Takaful, will also offer car insurance. The Al Hilal Auto Festival will be open to the public daily from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. during its four-day run.

Al Hilal Bank is fully owned by the Abu Dhabi Investment Council, the investment body of the Abu Dhabi Government.
