Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) and Statistics Center - Abu Dhabi (SCAD) signed a service agreement for sharing statistics in order to foster mutual cooperation and regulate data exchange and reissuance. The agreement also aims to avoid unnecessary survey duplication in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and improve quality of statistics developed for use by decision makers and the public.
Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Director General of ADEC, said that we are keen to foster collaboration ties with other government institutions in order to help realize the goals of Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.
“This Agreement comes in line with the emirate’s vision aiming to achieve sustainable development. Accurate statistics are the basis of research and studies, thus, collaboration is essential for obtaining the best results”, Dr. Al Khaili added.
“Partnership between ADEC and SCAD will help exchange experiences and ideas as well as statistics on schools, students, teaching and administrative staff, student results, etc’’, Dr. Al Khaili pointed out.
H.E. Butti Ahmed Mohammed Bin Butti Al Qubaisi, Director General of SCAD, said that ADEC and SCAD approved a set of common standards on data and statistics exchange to help obtain updated information on all areas of the educational process, to include schools, classrooms, students, staff, special needs students, number of literacy and adult education centers, student results, qualified teaching staff, and drop-outs which will be classified according to region, type of education, cycle, gender, nationality, etc.
Statistics will enable decision and policy makers in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to produce effective strategies for developing all areas of the educational system, Al Qubaisi indicated.
“The agreement will enable both organizations to jointly issue educational statistics about Abu Dhabi and participate in meetings, workshops and seminars pertaining to educational statistics. ADEC and SCAD will share the best practices in all areas of education in order to improve their own performance,” he explained.
SCAD is the main official body concerned with the collection of statistical data in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It assumes the functions of preparing the statistical plans programs that serve the emirate’s development programs, conducting statistical surveys all over the emirate. SCAD is also responsible for the collection, classification, storage, analysis and dissemination of official statistics and the release of the results of social, demographic, economic, environmental and cultural, surveys.
