Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) announced during a press conference held on yesterday the establishment of Abu Dhabi School of Management (ADSM) in partnership with Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ADCCI) and Babson College for Entrepreneurship Education. The new college will mainly focus on providing students with specialized undergraduate and postgraduate programs on administration and entrepreneurship. It aims at creating knowledge-oriented learning environment based upon well-grounded advanced research & scientific methods in order to help students acquire high-level skills that enable them to establish a knowledge-based economy.
HE Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, ADEC’s Director General, said that the establishment of ADSM comes in line with the goals of Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, aiming to achieve social and economic development across the emirate. “The establishment of the new School attests for ADEC’s keenness to play a major role in propelling the development process in Abu Dhabi”, said Al Khaili during the press conference. He reinforced the Council’s prominent dedication to develop the education sector at all levels. “We are strenuously laying down principles for creating a full-fledged community grounded on innovation, knowledge and advanced research atmosphere” he reiterated. Al Khaili indicated that ADEC zealously seeks to attract international renowned universities to capitalize on their long expertise in education and obtain holistic approaches for educational development. “This will help qualify our human capital and allow them to meet the job market needs and face global challenges,” he added. He pointed out that ADSM is expected to be an important step towards turning Abu Dhabi into an attractive educational hub for world-class global education institutions.
H.E Mohammed Rashid Al Hamli, ADCCI Director General, said that he is proud to see ADSM, being the first college to be globally-recognized with its entrepreneurship educational program, operate in Abu Dhabi. “Our Students will graduate from ADSM while being fully prepared to anticipate and respond to the ever-changing challenges of the business world. It will help create professional entrepreneurs, obtaining skills vital to run their new ventures and contribute to the economic growth”, he added. Al Hamli emphasized that partnering with Babson College reflects the importance of cooperating with international partners to bring first-hand industry experiences to Abu Dhabi local community. Al Hamli also applauded ADEC’s role in establishing the School to comply with international standards as part of its strategy.
Prof. Shahid Ansari, Provost of Babson College expressed his delight for sealing a 10-year partnership agreement with ADEC and ADCCI to build, operate and sustain a first class business school with a primary focus on producing entrepreneurship of all kinds. He illustrated that Babson entrepreneurship programs provide a broad skill-set for business and highly customized paths in specific areas including new ventures, franchises, corporate ventures, socially responsible companies, and family-controlled enterprises. “Entrepreneurship is not just an academic discipline. It is a way of life,” said Ansari, underlining the importance of boosting the social dimension in entrepreneurship education.
