Abu Dhabi University (ADU) is participating at this year’s International Defence Exhibition (IDEX), held from 20th to 24th February at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), to showcase its wide portfolio of undergraduate and post-graduate programmes to prospective students at the show.
Dr. Nabil Ibrahim, ADU Chancellor said, “Abu Dhabi University’s participation at the IDEX 2011 highlights its role in serving the larger community of Abu Dhabi and the UAE, and through its collaborations with government agencies. The objective is to keep students abreast with the latest programs and admission regulations, to reinforce its commitment towards enhancing the knowledge and skills of its students, and facilitating their personal development which will subsequently present them with a wide range of career opportunities in their field of choice.
“The IDEX 2011 has proven to be an excellent platform for the university to engage with businesses and other organisations for the purpose of networking and for pooling in exciting job opportunities for ADU graduates,” he added.
This year, 28 new scientific programmes were added to ADU’s list of programmes, including a foundation course, 21 undergraduate programmes and six post graduate programmes. Nine of these, featured in the current semester include: Bachelors in Health & Environmental Safety; Environmental Sciences; and Mechanical Engineering; Masters in Education; Engineering & Management; and Human Resources Management; and a Diploma in Teaching, accredited by the Academic Accreditation Department at the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research.
ADU Representatives will be stationed at the ADU Pavilion with handy information about the programs being offered. Visitors who are interested in enrolling at the University may also meet with the faculty who will be able to advise them on programmes that are most suited to their career compass, and that feeds their skills, interests and aptitude.
“The Abu Dhabi Economic Vision of 2030 has inspired members of the Abu Dhabi University to always strive for excellence and to raise the bar of quality education in the UAE. From the number of visitors we are receiving at our stand, it is evident that there are many across the region who seeks the very prospects that ADU offers,” said James Mackin, ADU Provost.
Every year, ADU attracts over 4,300 students who take up majors such as Management, Education, Science and Information Technology.
