Senior faculty members from Abu Dhabi University (ADU) in conjunction with the Western Region Development Council (WRDC) will hold an information session at the Madinat Zayed Wedding Hall in Al Gharbia on Sunday 23rd January between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

The aim of the meeting is to highlight existing ADU programmes and to plan and prioritize educational programs to meet the requirements of key industries in order to stimulate academic success in the region and improve the career prospects of Al Gharbia’s youth.

ADU’s Provost Dr James E Mackin said ADU – a member of the Al Gharbia Education and Employment Committee – is striving to enhance the employment prospects of the Western Region residents.

“ADU will be addressing this goal by highlighting our broad array of career oriented programmes that meet the needs of the region,” he said. “A survey will also be conducted to assess the needs of the Western Region market. In addition, discussions that will take place between the Western Region employers and ADU Deans so that we can better understand the needs of the Western Region Market and develop innovative solutions to meet the present and future educational needs of the residents of Al Gharbia.”

Mr. Mohamed Al Hosani, Director, Regional Development Division from the Western Region Development Council said that WRDC has a close working relationship with ADU and is committed to expanding the reach and access of higher education to more communities across the region.

“Our commitment to the people of Al Gharbia is to help provide the foundation for rewarding and long term future employment. This meeting is open to representatives of government and private sectors whereby we can discuss the local needs and collectively plan and prioritize technical and educational requirements for key industries.”
