ALHOSN University Signs 5-Year Education & Research Agreement With University Of Michigan-Dearborn

MoU covers sharing of engineering expertise, student & faculty exchange programs

 

ALHOSN University, a leading Abu Dhabi-based university dedicated to high-quality value-based education, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Michigan’s Dearborn campus (UM-Dearborn). The memorandum sets forth a framework for the sharing and exchange of teaching and research for the mutual benefit of both institutions.

The MoU, which will remain in force through 2015, provides an initial platform for enhanced information and knowledge sharing between the faculty of both institutions. It will build strong relations and develop academic and cultural interchange in education, research, and other activities; enhance the international outreach objectives of both parties; improve the educational experience of the engineering students by embracing and integrating innovative teaching models and state-of-the-art instructional materials; and achieve success through a close working relationship between the universities on all aspects of their partnership.

ALHOSN is committed to exploring mutually-beneficial ventures with UM-Dearborn which will satisfy the commitment of both our institutions to world-class education for our students, and to exceptional growth opportunities for our educators,” said Prof. Abdul Rahim Sabouni, Vice Chancellor and CEO, ALHOSN University.

Prof. Abdul Rahim Sabouni signed the agreement along with the University of Michigan-Dearborn’s Chancellor, Dr. Daniel Little. The MoU is part of initiatives to expand ALHOSN University’s global partnerships in keeping with its commitment to global growth with local vision.

Founded in 1959, the University of Michigan–Dearborn is a public university located in Dearborn, Michigan, USA. It has almost 9,000 students enrolled across its College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters (CASL), the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS), the College of Business (COB), and the School of Education (SOE). UM-Dearborn is renowned for its community engagement within the city of Detroit, and is part of The Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities. Its CECS was considered among the best 10 undergraduate engineering programs in the US whose highest degree is a bachelor’s or master’s degree.

ALHOSN University was founded in 2005 by the Abu Dhabi Holding Company in response to growing local demand for high-quality educational services. It is named after the historic ALHOSN Palace in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. ALHOSN offers 11 undergraduate and 7 graduate programs under the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the Faculty of Business, and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
