The Red Bull Pit Stop game will make its Middle East debut at the Abu Dhabi International Motor Show (ADIMS) 2010, joining a growing list of exciting family-friendly activities that also includes a specially designed outdoor kart track, a variety of racing simulators and a world indoor speed record attempt.
In addition to the live activities and mouthwatering competitions, some of the world’s most amazing vehicles will be on display at the show, which will be held from December 7-11 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), under the patronage of His Highness Lt Gen Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
The Red Bull Pit Stop game is the latest addition to a line-up of activities that is tailored to appeal to all of the family. It features an actual Formula 1 car chassis, with visitors competing against each other in trying to record the quickest time possible to make a tyre change. The game does not require any technical experience and visitors from all ages are welcome. It will offer players practical F1 knowledge and a taster of what it is like to be part of the team that won the 2010 F1 Constructors Championship.
On Friday and Saturday, December 11 and 12, ADIMS 2010 will witness a number of attempts to break the world Land indoor speed record, which currently stands at just over 132 km/h. Professional Emirati drivers will race visitors’ cars along a specially built, 300-meter long indoor track. The track, which will stretch the length of four of ADNEC’s exhibition halls, will have a special spectator area to allow visitors to be part of this unique experience.
At ADIMS 2010, visitors can also experience speed for themselves by taking an exhilarating ride at the specially built, unique outdoor kart track. Designed by experts from the Al Ain Raceway, one of the Middle East’s top karting facilities, the 350 meter long track will host both 270cc and 160cc karts, giving participants an unforgettable adrenaline rush. Open from 4-10pm from the Tuesday to Friday, and 12-10pm on the Saturday, the karting experience is set to attract speed lovers, both young and old, from across the UAE.
Catering for those who prefer to experience speed from the comfort of the stands, gaming fans can live the excitement on the Ford stand on a high-resolution rally simulator, or try out the new Gran Turismo Playstation 3 game on the Toyota stand, a chance to play this game before its official release.
Peter McConnell, the ADIMS 2010 Exhibition Director, said: “ADIMS 2010 is gearing up to be the largest, most comprehensive and most exciting motor show in the Middle East this year. We have a wide variety of activities that are specially tailored to suit all family members, and we are looking forward to welcome audiences from across the UAE and wider region.”
