The 8th Global Conference on Sustainable Manufacturing, opening on 22nd November at the Khalifa City Campus of Abu Dhabi University in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, will discuss significant issues, innovations and international researches related to the area of sustainable manufacturing.
Presented by the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP) and hosted by Abu Dhabi University (ADU) and Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, the conference will host 150 regional and global academic and industrial experts, including research institutes and industrial partners in the UAE capital to focus on new technologies, already being developed and applied for a sustainable product and process development protecting environment and health, will also be tackled in the conference
Among the main speakers at the conference are Hamad Al Hashemi, Director of Dubai Technopark, who will present ‘UAE 4 Innovation’; and Prof. Nabil Nasr of Rochester University presenting ‘A Framework for Sustainable Production. A case study by Dominik Rohrmus, Corporate Research and Technologies of Siemens will speak about ‘Sustainable Manufacturing at Siemens AG’. There will also be a VIP session with Dr. Nabil Ibrahim, Chancellor of ADU; Prof. Fred Moavenzadeh, President of Masdar Institute; and Prof. Dr. Ing Gunther Seliger, Berlin University of Technology (TU Berlin).
