On the occasion of Hajj (Pilgrimage) and Eid Al Adha, Al Eithar Kindergarten at Abu Dhabi, organized a two-day program to introduce Hajj rituals and Eid Al Adha to the younger children. The program aimed to inform students about the value of these important religious occasions and their impact on the life of Muslims.
Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of School Operations at Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), said that ADEC is trying to create a school environment that is not confined to the provision of academic lessons to students, but it should also serve as a hub for the various activities and meaningful events in order to help students develop their knowledge, skills and talents.
“Such school events and activities play an important role in developing the educational and learning process in accordance with ADEC 10-year Strategic Plan aiming at developing the educational system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in line with the highest standards and best practices,” Mr. Al Dhaheri added.
Al Eithar Kindergarten organized such interesting program over two-day period to ensure that all students know well about Hajj rituals and Eid Al Adha. The program was carried out by Ms. Najlaa Fakhri, Head of Activities Section and Media Committee at the Kindergarten under the supervision of Ms. Mariam Al Hosani, Principal of Al Eithar Kindergarten. During the program, students were trained to perform Hajj rituals to include wearing Ihram costume (Pilgrimage white garments), performing Tawaf (circumambulating the Kaaba counter clockwise) and Sa’y (Going between Safa & Marwa hills back and forth) and standing at Mount Arafat. The Kindergarten has prepared simulating models to illustrate such rituals. A presentation was also delivered on the history of pilgrimage and its obligations & restrictions.
During the second day, Eid Al Adha event was also simulated. The day started with student performance of Eid prayers followed by celebrating Eid through visiting and socializing with their families, relatives and friends.
