The Center of Waste Management – Abu Dhabi has awarded Averda a five-year contract that was signed at the beginning of November. Averda will deliver a complete range of environmental services to some of Abu Dhabi’s most prestigious developments.

Abu Dhabi has been making the world take notice of its ambitious projects. In November, the Yas Marina Circuit will host the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the closing race of the Formula 1 season. A waste management tender was won by Averda on financial and technical grounds after some fierce competition from regional and global participants. With only 3 weeks of mobilization Averda has commenced services across the high-profile developments such as Yas Island, Al Gurm Resort, Al Raha Beach and Al Raha Gardens.

H.E. Hamad Al Ameri – General Manager - The Center of Waste Management in Abu Dhabi, said, “We are proud to bring a new player with fresh prospective to Abu Dhabi to assist us in reaching our strategic goals and be a world leader in managing our waste and keeping our cities amongst the cleanest cities in the world. Our commitment to the protection of the environment and human health is in line with Abu Dhabi 2030 master plan. Abu Dhabi will soon be recognized as a world leader in sustainable and integrated solid waste management.”

Mr. Malek Sukkar – CEO - Averda said, “We are very happy to win this contract and work on prestigious developments in the UAE. It gives us the chance to introduce some innovative collection and recycling services. Averda has been aspiring to work within Abu Dhabi and with the Center for Waste Management and now this has become a reality. Averda will establish Solid Waste Collection and Transportation (Collection Services), Cleaning and Street Sweeping Services (Cleaning Services), Pest Control, and On-Call to the Yas Island, Al Raha Beach, Al Raha Gardens and Al Gurm projects. However these services are not limited.
