Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University (HBMeU), a leader in the field of e-Learning and quality management in the Arab World, recently made a presentation titled ‘Innovation Management’ at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Abu Dhabi - Yas Island, in the presence of senior officials from the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development. The move is in line with HBMeU’s strategy aimed at supporting social and economic development in various government departments and authorities, and also complements the University’s Corporate Social Responsibility programs that support the UAE’s strategic plan.
During his presentation, Dr. Al Awar highlighted the importance of innovation, which was the foundation for achieving sustained growth, especially in light of the rapid changes and challenges the world is witnessing. He pointed out the need to focus on building a pool of human resources that was capable of keeping pace with UAE’s strong growth. He also emphasized the key role that educational institutions have to play in this regard, as it is imperative for them to now offer courses that focus on developing the leadership qualities and intellect of the new generation.
Dr. Al Awar also confirmed that HBMeU is focused on spreading awareness about its goal of creating an innovation culture, and to contribute to building an innovative society that can excel in all fields. This, he said, complements the visions of Their Highnesses Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minster, and Ruler of Dubai, of achieving excellence at the social, economic, technological and governmental levels.
Dr. Al Awar also urged all government authorities, educational institutions and community organisations to undertake social responsibilities that reinforce societal development and encourages innovation and creativity. He also noted the importance of supporting qualified individuals and providing them opportunities to excel, especially by leveraging partnerships with concerned government bodies.
HBMeU is the first e-learning institute in the Arab World that was established with the vision to develop a new learning process through the implementation of teaching practices characterised by flexibility, quality and diversity to strengthen self-leadership among students and prepare them socially and academically for a future career through integration in the job market.
