ADTA Moves To Enhance Al Ain Visitor Experience
(19 October 2010)

Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) has rolled out its Enhancing the Guest Experience (EGE) programme in the oasis city of Al Ain following tourism industry partner demand.

EGE training workshops held in Abu Dhabi city throughout the year, have been positively received by industry stakeholders in the Eastern Region who welcomed the course’s inaugural staging in Al Ain.

“Having the programme here in Al Ain is a welcome initiative which allows more members of our staff to take part in the training due its proximity,” said Hossam Hammad, Learning and Development Section Head, Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort.

“ADTA filled an important performance gap and provided our staff with a much needed development activity. We look forward to hosting more programmes in Al Ain in the near future,” added Hammad.

The three-day programme is aimed at enhancing the Al Ain visitor experience through local workforce development.

“This series of workshops is designed to hone hospitality and tourism employees’ skills and help them deliver excellent service to visitors while enriching their knowledge in this great city’s culture and heritage,” said Paul Ram Prakash, Industry Professional Development Manager, ADTA.

“This is part of ADTA’s aim to develop world class standards throughout the entire emirate.”

Some 125 industry representatives took part in ‘Excellent Customer Service’, ‘Tourism Information Services’ and ‘Abu Dhabi Culture and Heritage’ workshops which participants say will raise the bar on service in Abu Dhabi’s heritage heartland.

“We found the training to be extremely informative and beneficial, it gave us a new perspective on guests’ needs as well as training on how to maximise customer satisfaction,” said Somaya Moosavy, Guest Services Manager, Al Ain Rotana.

Industry partners included Al Ain Rotana Hotel, InterContinental Al Ain Resort, Hilton Al Ain and Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort, ADTA Al Ain-based employees, including representatives from Al Jahili Fort Visitor Information Centre.
