Senior Singaporean Official Commends The Educational Development In Abu Dhabi

The Senior Parliamentary Secretary of Singapore’s Ministry of Education, Mr. Masagos Zulkifli, lauded the massive development of the educational sector in Abu Dhabi and the huge support provided by Abu Dhabi government to education in order to meet the highest international standards and levels.

“I have visited many countries as part of my job duties, but what I have seen here is remarkable,” Mr. Zulkifli said at the end of his visit to Abu Dhabi Kindergarten and The Chinese School, accompanied by H.E. Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al-Khaili, Director General of Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), H.E. Low Pit Chen, Charge d’Affaires of Singapore to the UAE, H.E Majid Al Mansouri, The Secretary General of Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi and Dr. Alaaeldin Aly, ADEC’s Director of Information Management Division.

“The attractive educational environment, modern teaching methods, bilingual and trilingual instruction using Arabic, English, Chinese or other languages while using state-of the-art educational technology reflect the great interest in education sector in the emirate of Abu Dhabi in order to achieve the best learning outcomes,” Mr. Zulkifli added.

“I noticed that students actively interact during classes thanks to the creative and attractive instructional methods applied by teachers” he added. Mr. Zulkifli emphasized that Abu Dhabi is expected to gain fruitful results in the near future thanks to the great support provided to education.

Mrs. Fatima Al-Bastaki, Principal of the Chinese School, briefed the Singaporean official and the delegation accompanying him about the programs delivered at the school. “The program is divided into three periods per day in Arabic, English and Chinese languages. At intervals, students perform some activities such as swimming, exercising, music and reading Quran. There is also a meal break designed by the school to help students be self independent while having their meals, she added.

Singapore has one of the world’s most advanced education systems, particularly with regard to Teacher Development Programs. The outcomes of Singaporean students, especially in Math, are among the best worldwide.
