His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, congratulated the Western Region Development Council (WRDC) – the central coordinating body leading development and promoting opportunity in Al Gharbia, the Western Region of Abu Dhabi – on the launch of the very first Al Gharbia Visitors’ Guide for the region. HH Sheikh Hamdan, the patron of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX), visited the WRDC stand at the exhibition on Wednesday, the opening day of the exhibition, to meet with H.E. Mohamed Hamad Bin Azzan Al Mazrouei, Director General of WRDC, and discuss the publication of the guide with the WRDC team.

This year marked the first time that WRDC has exhibited at ADIHEX, in order to showcase some of the region’s unique festivals and events. To mark the occasion of their participation, the council unveiled the new Al Gharbia Visitors’ Guide on the first day of the exhibition.

H.E. Mohamed Hamad Bin Azzan Al Mazrouei, Director General of WRDC, said:
"We are absolutely delighted to be participating in ADIHEX for the first time this year, and our involvement marks the perfect opportunity for the launch of the very first Al Gharbia Visitors’ Guide, the first comprehensive visitors guide for Al Gharbia that has ever been produced. The WRDC team worked very hard to develop a guide that truly highlights both the natural beauty of Al Gharbia, and the attractions on offer to visitors, and we were very pleased to be able to showcase the new guide to HH Sheikh Hamdan, and to the other visitors to the exhibition.”

The first ever Al Gharbia Visitors’ Guide, developed in coordination with Explorer Publishing, is available in English and Arabic, and features a host of information on Al Gharbia, highlighting the unique tourist and hospitality attractions of the region. The 136 page book is part of Explorer’s Visitors’ Guide series.Featuring insights into the history, culture, geography and local wildlife of the area, the guide also includes a detailed pull-out map of the region to aid exploration, camping and off-road guides, as well as ratings on local hotels, and information on restaurants and shops.
