Presentations were also made on the student services infrastructure, IT and library facilities, and on the wide range of activities available to them on both Abu Dhabi and Sharjah campuses.

By the end of the registration process, KUSTAR will have have enrolled more than 250 students for the new academic year.

Speaking on the day, Prof. Tod Laursen, KUSTAR’s new President, commented: "This year’s intake of students is joining Khalifa University at the most exciting stage in its history yet. The choice of academic studies on offer is growing dramatically and it’s been heartening to ascertain first-hand the students’ interest in future subjects coming on-line such as biomedical and nuclear engineering and homeland security, for example. The need for technically-skilled graduates in the UAE to support its developing economy has never been greater and our role in developing these talents is a critical one."

He continues: "We’ve been particularly delighted with the enrollment rates of UAE Nationals for the forthcoming year. We set high standards for admissions which means we can provide an intimate learning environment for some of the brightest, most creative minds in the UAE today. The young people joining KUSTAR today are the region’s science, technology and research leaders of tomorrow."
