Professor Daniel C. Esty Visits ADMA-OPCO

Mr. Ali S. Al Mazroui, ADMA-OPCO Senior Vice-President (Administrative Services), received Professor Daniel C. Esty, the Hillhouse Professor of Environmental Law and Policy and Director of the Center for Environmental Law and Policy at Yale University. He paid a short visit to ADMA – OPCO while touring the UAE.

Professor Esty is one of the world’s leading authorities on environment law and has published nine books and numerous articles on environmental policy issues and the relationships between environment and corporate strategy, competitiveness, trade, globalization, governance and development. He is also a well known commentator on business energy and climate change and is a frequent broadcaster on environmental issues. He met the senior management team and was given a summary of the history and activities of ADMA-OPCO. He was also shown some of the latest technological innovations in the company, especially the 3D modeling environment for reservoir management and the Real Time operations centre. He praised the company’s use of state of the art technology in areas of energy and environmental conservation. During his visit to the company’s information and multimedia centre he was shown a film of one of ADMA-OPCOs most recent contributions to improving the marine environment: the creation of an artificial reef that has been created off DAS Island. “This is a very impressive initiative for ADMA-OPCO’s to be developing and re-invigorating the environment so close to a major production facility, “ said Professor Esty. He commended the training programmes launched by the company to boost the development of U.A.E. employees.

Professor Esty thanked the management for their cordial welcome, and the very informative visit. Mr. Ali S. Al Mazroui – Senior Vice-President Administrative Services presented Professor Esty with a replica of Umm Shaif One well head tower from which the first crude oil was produced in 1962.
