Abu Dhabi residents and visitors got the chance to meet the stars of New York’s Big Apple Circus on Wednesday as the 17-strong troupe of performers went on an open top Big Bus Tour of the city, ahead of the critical-acclaimed show’s Middle East debut on Friday.

Stopping at Abu Dhabi Corniche and Marina Mall, the cast - comprising of gravity-defying acrobats, hilarious clowns and amazing performers, such as the record-breaking Gentleman Juggler and AJ Silver, whose unique act, combining trick roping, bullwhip artistry and boleadoras, has been performed around the world ­ wowed fans with their amazing skills.

The Big Apple Circus gained international notoriety as the opening act on Britney Spears’ phenomenally successful The Circus Starring: Britney Spears world tour. It will run daily at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) until 3rd August, as part of the six-week Summer in Abu Dhabi family festival.

Big Apple Circus tickets are AED 200 for adults and AED 75 for children under 12-years and can be bought at ADNEC or via www.boxofficeme.com.

This year’s Summer in Abu Dhabi, organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), is running a ‘one-for-one’ promotion, so for every ticket bought, another one is given for free, meaning twice the fun for families. Ticket holders will also be entered into a draw to win a luxury Chevrolet car.

The show begins daily at 8pm, with doors opening from 7.30pm onwards.
