Abu Dhabi Week Comes To TV!

Successful Weekly Magazine Migrates To The Small Screen

 

Turret Media, publisher of the UAE’s most successful weekly magazine Abu Dhabi Week (BPA-audited at 81,659 copies), is now bringing the formula to the TV screen.

Abu Dhabi Week TV is a half-hour monthly magazine programme that offers an entertaining and broad-based look at all aspects of life in Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi Week TV will air on all Etihad flights from 1 September 2010 – providing a total audience of 8.5 million passengers per year.

On short-haul flights of 3.5 hrs and below, it will be the only form of In Flight Entertainment. On medium and long haul flights it will be the official news and entertainment programme and is promoted as such on the opening In-Flight Orientation Video.

The programme will also be offered on in-room entertainment services at major Abu Dhabi hotels; and it will be streamed 24/7 from Abu Dhabi Week’s website at www.abudhabiweek.ae, where sample video is already available for viewing.

All segments in each 30-minute show are presenter-led, with no traditional commercial breaks or advertisements. Confirmed partners for segments in each Abu Dhabi Week episode already include ADTA (Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority), ADAC (Abu Dhabi Airports Company) and ADACH (Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage).

Primarily delivered in English, the programme has Arabic subtitles to reach a full international audience.

Turret Productions, a new division of the Turret Media group, has established a full creative team utilising state of the art equipment and an international crew of media professionals. Production services will be supplied by twofour54 intaj, Abu Dhabi’s media content hub where Turret Media is also based.

John Sammon, newly appointed Executive Producer, commented: “The quality of programming offered combined with the potential to reach that many viewers positions Abu Dhabi Week TV as an exciting venture. Turret Media is the UAE’s fastest growing media company. As well as Abu Dhabi Week it has a successful trade magazine portfolio and this year intends to add at least two new consumer titles – one entirely in Arabic – as well as several new-media projects.

Turret Productions is a new division of the company that has been set up to produce a full spectrum of filmed entertainment (including television shows, documentaries, and promotional videos) for viewers both within Abu Dhabi and throughout the world.
