The Executive Committee approved today a series of projects submitted by the Department of Transport in Abu Dhabi (DoT) for establishing bus only lanes for mass transport on the Zayed 1st and Hamdan Streets in the first phase and constructing the Madinat Zayed-Ghiyathi dual carriageway.

The committee meeting, which was chaired by H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, gave its nod for the second phase of the project for designing, installing and commissioning of 480 air-conditioned bus stop shelters across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as part of efforts to upgrade infrastructure of public transport, providing comfortable waiting facilities and encourage members of the community to use public transport.

The committee also gave its green light for enforcement of the environment, health and safety management system of the building and construction sector in Abu Dhabi City Municipality. The systems aims at creating a safe, health working environment and protecting construction workers from injuries and accidents.
