The UAE Pavilion at the Expo2010, currently held in Shanghai, is well on its way to be among the biggest attractions of the event, with a staggering 15,000 plus visitors of different nationalities and ages stopping every day to marvel at the state-of-the-art design of the pavilion.
The pavilion design is inspired by sand dunes and the desert landscape of the emirate, and features undulating structures clad in a triangulated lattice of gold-coloured stainless steel panels.
Inside the pavilion, the progress achieved by the UAE in all walks of life is being showcased to scores of admiring visitors.
The Chinese and foreign visitors to the pavilion are said to have been mesmerised and inspired by the folkloric shows performed daily by the troupe of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development.
Recently, winners of the ’Dream Journey’ contest, organised at the pavilion, were announced. Contestants needed to correctly answer 10 questions about the UAE. Over 300,000 visitors from different parts of the world took part in the contest. Winners get a one-week journey to the UAE during which they will visit the country’s major landmarks.
