Abu Dhabi Corniche has bagged Best Location Award in Abu Dhabi 2010; described as the perfect venue for relaxation, entertainment and fun for all segments of the community of various ages, judged by the contest recently run online by Hala Magazine, featuring participation from a large number of public from different age groups.

The Award was received on behalf of the Municipality by Rashid Ali Al Umairah, Consultant of Investments, Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, in a ceremony held by Hala magazine to announce the winners and distribute the Awards. The Municipality clinched the Award amidst tense competition from tens of locations competing for the honour.

Winning this Award comes in recognition of the excellent efforts of the Municipality to make Abu Dhabi Corniche one of the best tourist landmarks in the capital enabling the inhabitants and visitors to enjoy an interactive waterfront bustling with events and recreational spots for all spectrums of the community. The Municipality was keen on providing the highest levels of comfort and recreation that enable visitors along with their families to enjoy the gardens and beach facilities, practice several beach sports (such as football, volleyball, walking and jogging), and attend many other recreational events in an environment characterized by privacy and quietness.

The Corniche is featured by highly flexible movement to and from the surrounding areas, thus enabling visitors smooth access to the beach, with multiple options to riders and pedestrians such as private buses, walking tracks, and wooden walkway along the cornice besides several road crossings linking the Corniche with the surroundings.

Abu Dhabi Corniche is a tourist attraction point as well as a beautiful front & world-class recreational avenue for Abu Dhabi City, providing state-of-the-art services at the best standards. Work is up and running in a flexible and ambitious plan to upgrade the beach potentials and services in keeping with the expectations and future needs of the public as well as Abu Dhabi Future Plan 2030.
