The Department of Finance in Abu Dhabi held a ceremony to honor the Al Ain Municipality, in recognition of its outstanding performance in providing its 2010 consolidated budget ahead of schedule. The municipality is the first governmental department in Abu Dhabi to provide 2010 budget in accordance with the best international practices and applications.
The ceremony was attended by HE Hamad Al Hurr Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Department of Finance; HE Mohammed Sultan Gnome Al Hamli, Executive Director of DoF; HE Dr. Mattar Al Nuaimi, General Manager of Al Ain Municipality; Mr. Hatem Ateeq Al Muherbi, Director of the Budget Preparation and Execution Section in DoF; Mr. Omar Saeed Neyadi, Director of Strategic Planning Sector in Performance Management Department in Al Ain municipality, Mr. Ahmed Ali Al Harmoudi, Director of Financial Planning and Reports Department in the municipality and a number of directors of the DoF and Al Ain’s Municipality.
An honorary shield and a certificate of appreciation have been awarded to Al Ain Municipality by the DoF as a token of loyalty, and for its outstanding achievement.
“I congratulate Al Ain’s Municipality on this exceptional achievement which reflects the hard work done by the municipality and its commitment to raise the effectiveness of public work. Indeed, The Municipality plays an important role in supporting the development and progress led by the Government of Abu Dhabi”, HE Hamad Al Hurr Al Suwaidi said.
"In line with the generous guidance of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Department of Finance in Abu Dhabi, we will continue to work together with the DoF and all governmental entities, to achieve strategic governmental goals", HE Al Suwaidi added.
For his part, HE Dr. Mattar Al Nuaimi said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Department of Finance for this recognition of which we are very proud. Let me also say thanks for the work of our creative and passionate staff; not forgetting the team spirit that binds the municipality and DoF, enabling them in an accurate and speedy manner”.
