The Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation presented yesterday a free concert of acapella singing by the “Voices of Harmony” and “Blue Fever”, two bands from the UAE art community. The concert, held at the Armed Forces Officers’ Club in Abu Dhabi, celebrated a style of singing that uses only voices with no musical instruments.

“Voices of Harmony”, a barbershop group of 21 women performers created six years ago, presented their spring repertoire which featured popular songs such as “Georgia on my Mind”, “Over the Rainbow”, “Breaking Up is Hard to Do” and others. “Blue Fever”, a jazz ensemble comprised of 9 vocalists who have performed together in various locations in the UAE over the last two years, added to the excitement by presenting some more widely popular songs such as “Killing Me Softly” and “Smile”.

ADMAF’s support of the initiative is in line with the Foundation’s commitment to reach out to the wider UAE art community as part of its ever growing community programme, which seeks to encourage grassroots involvement in the arts across the country.
