An exhibition of fine paintings by noted Brazilian artist Davis Aniesto, got underway at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development’s Cultural Centre in Abu Dhabi recently. Themed ‘Between the forest and the desert’, the exhibition of nature-inspired paintings is being held under the patronage of Abdel Rahman bin Mohamed Al Owais, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development. The exhibition will run till May 25th.

Aniesto’s works are inspired by his intense commitment to the preservation of the earth’s natural beauty and environment. He sees the desert as pure, unspoiled natural beauty, while his works about the forest convey his concern at the rapid destruction of the rain forest in his home country. Aniesto is showcasing 38 selected paintings which depict the rain forests in Brazil and beauty of the UAE desert.

The exhibition is being held as part of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community’s drive to increase the country’s profile as an artistic destination, by showcasing works by world-renowned artists.
