Al Ain Wildlife Park and Resort (AWPR) is the latest company to announce that they will be represented at World Green Tourism presented by Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA). AWPR have become the first gold sponsor of the international event, a conference and supporting exhibition, which will be a forum for key tourism industry leaders from around the world to discuss the environmental challenges facing the industry and their commercial impact. To be held next December at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, the three-day event is being organised by the UAE’s Streamline Marketing Group with ADTA as headline sponsor.
Work is already underway to transform the area on the outskirts of Al Ain city into a multibillion-dirham resort that will include luxury lodges, a 5 star, 200 room hotel and over 1,000 villas. Split into 3 zones, the 900 hectare project will allow visitors and guests to experience Arabian, North American and north Kenyan wildlife in a natural setting. Visitors are able to learn about more than 180 species of animals, 30% of which is considered endangered. Species of conservation action at AWPR include the Arabian Oryx, Scimitar-horned oryx, addax, Dhama and Mhorr gazelles, Arabian leopard, Sand cat, and African lion. Visitors to AWPR learn about these species in detail.
Dr Frederic Launay, CEO of AWPR said “The Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort is creating a sustainable destination that aims to be an internationally renowned centre of excellence for wildlife and nature conservation, as well as eco-friendly living and learning. AWPR is an organization focused on bringing people in touch with nature. AWPR wants to instil within its visitors a deep appreciation and respect for the rich plant and animal biodiversity of world deserts. As Abu Dhabi’s culture and heritage springs from this wondrous environment, it provides a unique venue for environmentally conscious tourist. We are eager to affiliate ourselves with other like-minded organizations in the UAE and across the globe”.
“World Green Tourism Abu Dhabi brings together destinations, suppliers, advocates, and global leaders into one forum. We think the world green tourism conference in Abu Dhabi is a great opportunity to build strong relationships within this network”.
The ADTA is spearheading a major campaign to deliver substantial, sector-wide energy, water and waste reduction. To help businesses comply they have been holding a series of workshops across the Emirate and will be supporting the major global Green Tourism Summit in Abu Dhabi in December.
Visitors to Arabian Travel Market, which runs from May 4-7 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, can find out more about World Green Tourism presented by ADTA through visiting the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority stand.
The Abu Dhabi pavilion will take up 1,400 square metres and will be the largest of any stand at Arabian Travel Market. It will include new-to-market exhibitors including soon-to-open hotels, new travel and tourism operators and city centre resorts.
