Quintessentially Abu Dhabi, the UAE wing of the world’s leading luxury lifestyle group and private members’ club, has announced that the team from Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA) emerged as champions in the Endurance Go-Karting Race held at Al Ain Sportplex.
A total of 23 teams representing 20 organisations brought a tough and exciting contest to the finish in the three-hour endurance karting competition that was held on 16 April. Teams from Quintessentially and Mubadala, an investment vehicle of the Abu Dhabi Government, bagged the second and third spots respectively.
Khaled Al Fahim, Partner of Quintessentially Abu Dhabi, said: “The Quintessentially Night Race provided everyone with a great opportunity to get to know a different side of their colleagues and partners. Competitive sporting events serve to strengthen the team spirit among participants and their colleagues who cheer for them. The Endurance Go-Karting Race in Al Ain combined this spirit with a strong passion for motorsports that many of us share, making it an exciting evening for everyone present.”
The event also raised awareness on breast cancer and the importance of early screening. The Breast Care Centre at Al Tawam Hospital set up a free standing training facility, fully equipped with screening tools and other amenities. Professional staff from Tawam provided complimentary educational material and self-exam guidelines for women to encourage early detection, diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
Other participating teams comprised members from organizations such as European International College, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Tourism Development and Investment Company, Fiat, Firestones, Deerfields Town Square, Inmotion, EPICO, du, Al Khajah, British Embassy, MBI, Azadea, and Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, and JBA.
