Zayed Sports City and the Abu Dhabi Figure Skating Team Committee have announced their 4th annual figure skating event: A Night at the Oscars to be held on the 30th April at 4:30pm in the Abu Dhabi Ice Rink of Zayed Sports City.
This unique and magical event will bring together 40 youngsters aged from 5 to 25 to perform the world’s favourite movies on the ice. The skaters come from all over the world such as the UAE, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, France, Italy, Canada, Lebanon, Iraq, Oman, Egypt, Lithuania, Russia, and the Philippines, and they range in ability and experience from complete beginner to advanced levels.
"Every year since 2005, my skaters perform an annual show at the Abu Dhabi Ice Rink which allows them to showcase their talent on the ice" said Noemi Bedo, Head Coach at the Abu Dhabi Ice Rink. "Our show this year is based on music and themes from famous movies and the numbers are inspired by movies such as Madagascar, Spiderman, Pirates of the Caribbean, and also a taste of Bollywood" confirmed Bedo who herself is a former Romanian figure skating champion who competed at European and Olympic championships.
Zayed Sports City and the Abu Dhabi Figure Skating Team Committee welcome everyone - adults, kids and families - to join us for this unique experience.
"We believe this is a fantastic opportunity for children in Abu Dhabi to attend a fun, upbeat event while being introduced to the sport of ice-skating. Many schools offer ice skating as part of their sports curriculum and our show is a perfect way to inspire children to be active and encourage them to try something new" said Karen Engle, Representative of the Figure Skating Team Committee.
