Over 150 representatives of ministries and governmental departments, as well as civil society organizations, researchers and experts on family, women and children will gather in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday for the first forum of institutions supporting protection of woman and child in the UAE.
Taking place at the InterContinental Hotel Abu Dhabi, the event will be organised by the Human Rights Directorate at the General Secretariat of the Office Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HH Lt.General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Police’s Centre for Security Research and Studies.
An exhibition showcasing publications on culture of rights of woman and child issued by 11 departments in the ministries, corporations and foundations will be held at the sideline of the event.
Brigadier Ahmed Mohammed Nakhira, Director of Human Rights, General Secretariat of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, and head of the higher organizing committee of the event, said that the UAE, under its wise leadership, lends proper care for the dignity of human being and preservation of his rights and basic freedoms as guaranteed by Islam which based on justice, equality and tolerance.
He told a press conference today the forum would review best practices and methods for spreading the culture of woman and child rights in the UAE community and discuss means of standardising rules of cooperation and partnership between the official authorities and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
