(18 April 2010)

Etihad Airways flight cancellations remain in place to the UK, Ireland, Belarus and the majority of its European destinations until further notice, due to the spread of volcanic ash cloud.

Etihad has reinstated services to Moscow, with EY69, Abu Dhabi to Moscow, departing at the delayed time of 3.30pm local time this afternoon. Moscow services will return to their normal operating schedule from tomorrow, April 19.

The following destinations remain affected:
• London Heathrow, United Kingdom;
• Manchester, United Kingdom;
• Dublin, Ireland;
• Paris, France;
• Geneva, Switzerland;
• Milan, Italy; and
• Frankfurt, Germany;
• Munich, Germany.
• Minsk, Belarus.

Etihad Airways encourages passengers with travel plans to these destinations to visit the Etihad website, www.etihadairways.com, contact their local Etihad office, travel agent, or the airline’s dedicated customer assistance lines. Etihad Airways’ guests who are booked to travel on a cancelled flight during the affected period can rebook to a new travel date*, or cancel their ticket and receive a full refund.

Etihad Airways Chief Executive Officer, Mr James Hogan, said the airline would continue to do everything possible to minimise the impact of the situation to its passengers.

“The major priority for us right now is our customers,” Mr Hogan said.

“In Abu Dhabi, Etihad staff are located in all hotels in which our transit passengers are accommodated, and we continue to communicate with them to advise of any changes to the situation.

“We regret the inconvenience caused by these cancellations, however we are monitoring the situation very carefully and we will continue to comply fully with the UK and European authorities during these closures. We will not operate to any area that represents a safety risk.”

Customers can contact the airline on the following dedicated customer assistance lines:
• in the UAE - 800 550 55 (toll free);
• in the UK - 0800 917 7521 (toll free); and
