Masdar, Egyptian Renewable Energy Authority sign agreement

Abu Dhabi National Energy Company, Masdar, has signed a general framework agreement with the Egyptian New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) to study setting up wind power plant with capacity of 200 megawatt in Suez Gulf area in Egypt.

Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Chief Executive Officer, Masadr, signed the deal with HE engineer Dr. Abdel Rahman Salah Chairman, (NREA) in Egypt. Present was Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Energy Hassan Yunus and Charge d’Affaires of the UAE Embassy in Egypt Abdullah Mohammed bin Abboud.

Abboud pointed out that this agreement reflects deep ties between the two sisterly countries due to the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Egyptian Mohammed Hosni Mubarak.

The agreement comes in the context of enhancing the UAE-Egyptian relations in all fields especially in the field of new and renewable energy.
