Flash Entertainment, the Abu Dhabi-based live events producers, in partnership with the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City and Abu Dhabi Beaches today confirmed the first names in a line up of musicians set to take the Corniche public beach by storm during Wakestock Abu Dhabi 2010, 4-6 March, starting from 1 pm till late.
The three day event on the Corniche’s Al Sahil beach will see Mercury Prize-nominated British alternative rock band Maximo Park entertain the entire community on Friday, the second night of the festival. With two platinum albums and a fervent fan base, Maximo Park is guaranteed a warm reception. The final night of the festival, Saturday 6th March, will see legendary hip hop super group De La Soul take to the stage to drop jazzy beats matched only by their trademark quirky lyrics. Celebrated for their eclectic sampling, the Grammy and NME award winning De La Soul will no doubt thrill Abu Dhabi to end Wakestock Abu Dhabi 2010 in fantastic style.
With a combination of adrenaline-pumping watersport action by day and world class music by night, the free three day festival promises an unforgettable experience for the entire community.

Visitors and Abu Dhabi residents have already been treated to a taste of the unique festival with the unveiling of the Beginners’ Park on Al Sahil beach recently. Open from 12pm – 6 pm from Tuesday till Saturday, the unique 2.0 system uses overhead cable and tow ropes to pull the rider along the water, allowing for an ideal way for all (from the age of eight) to enjoy the sport at a beginner’s level.
