Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH), the UAE’s leading hospitality group with interests in hotels, catering, tourism and transport reported a net profit of AED 432.92 million compared to AED 292.74 million in 2008, reflecting growth of 47.9%.
Sound performances in all operating divisions combined with earnings generated from investments boosted net profits by 47.9% to 432.92 million from AED 292.74 million in 2008.
Earnings per share increased to AED 0.43 from AED 0.29 in 2008.
Reflecting on the results, H.E Saif Al Hajeri, ADNH’’s Chairman said: "We believe in the growth potential of our businesses. We will continue our efforts in emphasising, developing new properties and products to ensure our reputation and exemplary market positioning are enhanced.
"We added 3 hotels to our portfolio during 2009, with the 438 room Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach opening in December, the 64 room Al Diar Barsha Apartments opening in June and the 79 room Siji Apartments in Fujairah opening in January", he added.
Richard W. Riley, CEO of ADNH said " the addition of three hotel properties in 2009, the entrance of the Grand Canal Abu Dhabi to the market in 2010, combined with continued growth in our Catering, Transport and Tour divisions, ADNH is well positioned for 2010 and beyond" Under construction are the 569 room Grand Canal Abu Dhabi - A JW Marriott Hotel with completion expected late 2010 and the 314 room Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas on Saadiyat Island Hotel due for completion in early 2011
