ALHOSN University, a leading Abu Dhabi-based university dedicated to high-quality, value-based education, recently hosted the Arab Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers’ (ACRAO) 2nd Executive Committee Meeting at its campus. The University joined discussions on prevailing issues, trends and practices in Middle Eastern educational institutions. Included in the agenda were preparations for Arab ACRAO’s 30th General Conference.
ALHOSN Provost Dr. Hamdi Sheibani, the next president of Arab ACRAO, attended the session alongside prominent members of the regional academia, including ACRAO Secretary-General Mosaed Abdulkarim Al Dakhil; Dr. Sheriff Chihab from the University of Arts and Science and Technology in Lebanon, Chairman of ACRAO for the current year of 2010; Dr. Walid Al Mobayed from the University of Balamand – Lebanon, former head of ACRAO; and Ms. Aisha Al Thani, Acceptance Administrator - Qatar University, and Mr. Nabil Jamal Mohiuddin from Kuwait University, Secretariat of ACRAO.
“Our organization is fully committed to ensuring the continuous development of the region’s educational network. Our success relies on the support of institutions such as ALHOSN which share our commitment to academic excellence and sustainable Arab development. As we prepare for our 30th General Conference, we call on the region’s academic communities to join us in identifying and adopting better student service strategies and techniques,” said Arab ACRAO Secretary-General Al Dakhil.
ALHOSN joined discussions on Arab ACRAO’s 30th General Conference, which will be held under the theme ‘Admission and Registration Challenges in Light of Technological Development.’ Among the topics to be discussed during the conference are educational tourism, forgery, document protection, modern educational approaches, and equivalence of university degrees in the Middle East.
“ALHOSN constantly participates in regional dialogues on the improvement of the quality of education and the services provided to students. Our partnership with Arab ACRAO enables us to interact with our colleagues from abroad and share our visions for a knowledge-based Arab society. We pledge to help ensure the success of ACRAO’s 30th conference as well as its other initiatives,” added Dr Hamdi Sheibani, Provost , ALHOSN University.
Founded in the late 1970s, the Arab Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (Arab ACRAO) comprises leading universities from the Middle East. The Association organizes annual meetings that gather experts in admissions, registration, student advising, student activities, and other student services.
ALHOSN University was founded in 2005 under the vision of ‘global knowledge with local vision.’ It currently offers 11 undergraduate and 7 graduate programs in three faculties, all accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
